What i wonder is that the calculator does not provide the BlueSolar version just the SmartSolar.
I read that CPU/Load wise a Cerbo should handle this still. an outage of 1 of the MPPT still would mean 4/5 production running and i might even keep one in spare. (might also go for a Raspi in the beginning) But this would allow a quite flexible installation. understand that i need to then use 5 times a VE Direct connenction which would meen on a Cerbo a powered USB Hub with usb to VE Direct adapter to extend the 2 available ports. Honestly pricewise i would go for the 5 small ones but not the Smart one rather the Blue. I figured out 2 reasonable configurations. I was looking to also extend the PV Array with 10 400Wp modules. Just joined the community as i am planning to extend my existing PV installation with a 3 phase Multiplus 5000/48v ESS. Surely other people have experienced this problem? Does anyone have any advice here please? This essentially means I am losing energy as the MPPT controller is only harvesting a minimal amount of energy to trickle charge the battery, but the load output is incapable of triggering due to the trickle voltage. Whilst in float state, the battery level does not rise to 28v and therefore the load output is not triggered. Namely, the battery is already fully charged, so the charge controller enters float state. However, the load output triggers prematurely when Bulk voltage > 28v, even though the battery has not completed its charge cycle at that stage.Ĭonversely, I have seen recently a few occurrences of the opposite. Separately to this, I have the Load Output "ON" threshold set to 28v and the "OFF" Threshold set to 24.7v.
I have the Bulk -> Absorption threshold set to 28.8v and Absorption -> Float threshold set to 27.6v as per general recommendation. I have a SmartSolar MPPT 100/20 with 400w of panels and a 24v flooded lead battery bank.
